Event that put Brazil on the worldwide artistic circuit, São Paulo Art Biennial was founded in 1951 and has been held every two years in Ibirapuera Park, in the cosmopolitan city of São Paulo.

The Biennial is notoriously known for its impact on the world of the Visual Arts, always spreading trends in the art scene. The event had the participation of over 14 thousand national and international artists from 160 countries, and has received important works, such as the famous painting Guernica, by Pablo Picasso.

The programming has several workshops, lectures and debates, and various cultural performances, such as spectacles of dance, music and theater.

With 25 thousand m² in three floors, the Ciccillo Matarazzo Pavilion, where the Biennial is held, is an icon of the modern architecture. It was designed by the renowned architect Oscar Niemeyer and landmarked by the National Institute of Historic and Artistic Heritage (Iphan).
