The Santa Cruz River makes a curve that looks more like a horseshoe. It is there where the breathtaking valley that names the Ferradura Park is, one of the several tourist attractions of Canela, Rio Grande do Sul.
For those seeking contact with the nature in the region of Serra Gaúcha, the Park is an excellent option. The forest is formed mostly by Araucarias. These trees produce a chestnut called pine nut, which attracts animals such as the capuchin monkey, azure jay, agouti, and nasua – the latter is common in the main area of the Park.
You can go on hikes with various difficulty levels that lead to waterfalls, forests, and waterfalls. There are three lookouts for the impressive landscapes of the Vale da Ferradura.
The structure of the Park has eight barbecue areas, playground, and snack bar, in an area of about 200 hectares.
Prepare a delicious barbecue on barbecue grills.
At some points, there is no sign of telephony.
If there is fog near the Park, it is not possible to see the valley.
Wear closed-toe shoes and apply insect repellent in the summer (December to March).
