Jeri Beach is opposite the village of Jijoca de Jericoacoara and its waters are shallow and have minimal waves – a great environment for Stand Up Paddle (SUP), kitesurfing and sailing. There are tents to the right side of the bay that provide meals, drinks and sun loungers. The beach is surrounded by rafts, small lagoons and sand dunes of up to 30 m that change color during the day, according to the incidence of light.
On the left side of the beach you will find the Duna do Pôr do Sol (Sunset Dune). Every afternoon, at around 5:00 pm, the ideal program is to go to the top and watch the spectacular sunset. The place is full of people who, thrilled, applaud the moment when the sun appears to disappear in to the sea.Local tradition says that you must descend the dune by its front. You can add a little more fun to this moment by getting down with an esquibunda, which is a flat board used to slide seated down the sands. It is very exciting!
We recommend the use of slippers or sandals. The sand becomes very hot
