At least 20 types of cashew are cataloged, varying in color, consistency, taste and shape. Regardless of the species, it is very tasty and nutritious. Rich in calcium, phosphorus, iron and vitamin C, it is indicated for those who have anemia. It also helps in the treatment of diabetes, throat infections, diarrhea and is used to treat syphilis as a coadjuvant. Fleshy pulp - which is used in juices, sweets, ice cream and mixed drinks - is actually the pendulum of the true fruit, which is cashew nuts.


Common especially in the North and Northeast of Brazil, the fruit has a bittersweet flavor and a delicious aroma.
