Búzios
Located approximately 170 km from the city of Rio de Janeiro, Búzios is a world-famous resort town surrounded by green crystal-clear waters. One of the theories is that the city got its name from sea shells that were abundant in local beaches.
In the 1960s, Búzios became a popular summer resort for cariocas. After actress Brigitte Bardot spent some time there, the small village was never the same again. The city gained international fame and became a popular tourist destination. There is even a waterfront promenade at Armação Beach named after the actress.

Búzios is renowned for its lively nightlife and exquisite cuisine. Night Clubs on Rua das Pedras and on Bardot Waterfront Promenade are open till dawn, especially in the summer and during holidays. Local restaurants are influenced by international cuisine, offering visitors a selection of different flavors.
There are more than 20 beaches around the city, so there is certainly something for everyone. Some of the most popular among them are the beaches of Geribá (a favorite among surfers), Ferradura (good location for freediving), Armação, Azeda, and João Fernandes.
There are over 200 hotels and inns in the city. And all the local infrastructure blends carefully and harmoniously with the gorgeous local beaches. Everyone who visits Búzios falls in love with it.
