Jericoacoara Beach (Jeri)
Facing Jijoca Village, Jeri beach is the most popular in the region. The beach has a wide strip of sand and it is a great location to go stand up paddle boarding due to its shallow waters and small waves. Other popular activities with tourists are kitesurfing and sailing, due to the region’s constant strong winds.
The beach also reserves an amazing daily spectacle for its visitors. There is a local dune called the Sunset Dune, where everyone goes to watch the gorgeous sunset every evening.
Pedra Furada Beach (Pierced Rock)
Renowned for its large arched rock, the beach is one of Jeri’s icons. It is especially popular during the month of July, when the sunset can be seen right through the arch.
During low tide, it is a 40-minute walk from Jijoca Village to the famous Pierced Rock. On the way, visitors will also see caves and natural pools. There is an alternate route over Morro do Serrote (Saw Hill), from which you will be able to take the most amazing pictures of the views.
Lagoa Paraíso (Paradise Lagoon)
Due to the beautiful color of the water, the lagoon is one of the favorite tourist spots in the region. One of the best things about it are the hammocks that are literally in the water, making them very popular with visitors. If you are up for trying the local cuisine, there are plenty of restaurants all around the lagoon.
Lagoa Azul (Blue Lagoon)
If you are planning to get some rest, you can enjoy this beautiful lagoon from under the shade of a straw canopy or on hammocks. For those into sports, the lagoon’s clear warm waters are perfect to go stand up paddle boarding. But if it is adventure that you are after, you can always try water tubing.
Tatajuba Lagoon
Tatajuba Lagoon, a very quiet place surrounded by dunes, has excellent infrastructure. It is located on the west coast of Jeri, and those who go there usually drive off-road vehicles.
Mangue Seco Beach
The best attraction at Mangue Seco Beach is the boat trip on which visitors are able to observe seahorses in their natural habitat. Upon arrival at the beach, visitors will see immense dried-up trees and their apparent roots.
To make a long story short, Jeri is a mandatory stop for anyone visiting the state of Ceará. It will charm each and every one of its visitors. Whether you want to immerse yourself in nature or enjoy great nightlife, Jericoacoara is the perfect place for you!
